Roosevelt Care Center at Old Bridge collaborates with physicians supported by a team of the finest consulting specialists in the area. Old Bridge's nursing staff is trained to perform various procedures and functions, ranging from IV therapies to wound care, which allow residents to receive treatment in comfort and privacy.
Modeled after Edison, our sub-acute rehabilitation program also consists of physical, occupational and speech therapy. In order to achieve maximum levels of functioning for our residents, the program utilizes Nautilus© equipment specifically designed for therapy. Each member of our interdisciplinary team contributes to a comprehensive care plan tailored to meet an individual resident's needs. This collaboration also provides residents with the tools for a safe discharge and often results in shorter lengths of stay.
Our second floor, secure unit was specifically designed for the safety of our residents who've been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia. This unit extends to an outdoor courtyard well suited for group, recreational and social activities. Pulling from the vast Roosevelt experience in Edison, our practice is to provide a calm, friendly environment to our residents with an interdisciplinary team made up of but not limited to physicians, psychiatrists, nursing staff, social workers and recreation staff. These staff members have completed training focused around cognitive impairments. In addition to resident care, we emphasize support for family members who have also been coping with these often difficult diseases.
The Old Bridge campus builds on Edison's legacy by offering a wide variety of recreational opportunities for residents and their families. In addition to its regularly scheduled activities, the center provides specialty programs for holidays and events, religious ceremonies, parties, and many other forms of entertainment. As a complement to our recreational services, our common room just off the lobby is equipped with some of the most modern audio, visual and PowerPoint© equipment available for resident activities, professional seminars, staff meetings and guest speakers.
Technology plays a vital role in Old Bridge's clinical and daily operations. Staff utilizes handheld computers that enable residents to signal their personal caregiver. These devices provide residents direct contact with staff, while reducing noise levels and improving response time. Additionally, the facility boasts wireless Internet capabilities.
