Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Building at Edison

Located on the Edison campus, the Barbara E. Cheung Memorial Building was the very first free-standing hospice in New Jersey.  Our mission has been steadfast:  to create a comfortable, home-like environment while providing the best medical care for patients at the end of life.  We offer family and friends the peace of mind needed to make the most of these last serene days.

The hospice service was created in 1989 to complement Roosevelt’s long term care, offering services at home.  These services were expanded in 1991, when the six-bed hospice building was opened.  It was dedicated to Barbara E. Cheung, the late wife of Dr. Man Wah Cheung, former medical director of Roosevelt.  Over the years, thousands of Middlesex County families have utilized hospice services.  To enhance and improve hospice services in 2012, Visiting Nurse Association Health Group, a voluntary non-profit organization, was named the preferred provider of hospice services.  With over 30 years of hospice services between them, Visiting Nurse Association Health Group and Roosevelt Care Center form a relationship that establishes one of the most experienced hospice care providers in the State of New Jersey. Services are carried out in the Parsonage Road building.
